Just another quick update, this is the first time i've used Fox transfers & i'm really pleased with how easy they are to use. I've just added 'WM' logo's of the West Midlands PTE to one of my 3 car Class 101's which i'm also yet to renumber to a Tyseley based set.

This is how it looks....

i am just starting so changing couplings would not be too costly. I find the standard ones fiddly to un-couple. Are these better?

Hi Mark,

Shawbury has come a long way. Great to see how it has developed from the bare board to a great station with wonderful little details. Your platform furniture looks great, as usual. Your latest photos look very good, as well.
Looks like fun to operate. Did your change towards a through station work out? Is it better to run now?

Cheers,
Michael

Hi John,

You can buy them from Hattons for £3 http://www.ehattons.com/36675/Dapol_Nem ... etail.aspx
I find these really easy to use as they just slide in & out of each other & on the 150's, they look way better than the rapido. I've only coverted the dummy 156 at one end so it can work either with my 150's (all fitted with knuckle couplers) & also the rest of my 156's with the Tomix coupler.
Hope this helps :)

All the best,
Mark

Hi Michael,

Thankyou for the kind feedback there :) . This layout is far simpler than the previous one to operate, more for the fact my storage sidings are easier to reach, & you can watch the trains run round at speed. Shrewsbury is also a through station in real life.
The old layout I hadn't thought through properly & it did have a lot of operating issues & derailments. Thankfully, it doesn't happen on the new layout :)

How is Sudbury-On-Sea? Havn't seen it here for a while....

All the best,
Mark

Fantastic use of space and some great detailing - nice job!
Some very innovative use of materials too. Very effective - just what modelling is all about :D

Sudbury is somewhere on page 4. Didn't do much on either layout lately. But I came up with a few ideas. Just have to find my mojo again :?

I get excactly the same at times Michael, enthusiasm comes & goes, though I've found myself really going at this layout thankfully, though it's all according to what sort of day at work i've had to start doing intricate work with an N guage layout :?

Well guys what I have made this evening is my Shirescenes 'Brute' trollies, found at most mainline stations in the 80's/early 90's. Very fiddly to make unless you have spindle fingers & can count to 10 a few times...which I had to  ...but i'm glad i've done them as they look the part :) . I just need to blacken the tiny wheels now..

Here they are on the station, I've put them on platform 1 at the southend as there were always rows of them at the end of platform 7 at Shrewsbury back in the day...

Great layout, enjoyed reading through the pages. Still finding it hard to believe it's N gauge, especially with the wonderful photo's!

Thanks John,

Glad you like it :) . My platforms were made from the Metcalf kits. I really recommend them as you can make them to any shape & they really are solid once constructed.

Evening Guys,

Nothing to report on the layout itself, but ive got round to doing a couple of Mark 2 coaches into InterCity livery curtisy of electra railway graphics. Really pleased how they've turned out. The paint came off very easy by gently rubbing the coaches with nail varnish remover. I've also got BR lines interiors & have painted the standard seats in InterCity red.
I still have 4 more coaches to do. Here's the 2 i've done so far...
