Thanks jimmy...Exe halt crossing now has a gatekeepers hut...telegraph poles added for detail :D am now starting on Exe valley main station after a bit of track relaying to get more space by removing a platform and reducing the second bay to a small autotrain platform,it will now let me fit a retaining wall and town backscene..it now suits it better for a branch line terminus :D

Hi all.. had a few parts delivered so now I can carry on with Exe valley main, got a couple of ideas and thought I would layout to plan how it looks..the idea is to try and recreate a small town terminus using retaining walls from international models, a lot cheaper than ratio items and longer also!!!..the only downside is no capping stone so I will have to make some  I then used freestone model backscene sheets and will overlay some grafar low relief houses and pub to give the perception of depth, this will also give me a little space for a streetscene, access to the station via a covered stair/bridge :D ...here is where its at...

Great work - have you ever thought of exhibiting it? I think it would be good enough - easily. (I realise this might not be possible if it hasn't been designed to be exhibited).

Thanks whynot and skyblue, I have had other comments on exhibiting it, perhaps when it is finished, although it is built on 3 ..6ft long boards joined together I would have to modify the tunnel as it overlaps a join and cut track at at these positions and fit a suitable power connection to track joints...I intend to send some pics to a couple of magazines to see if they would consider a slot in a mag at some point when im happy, fingers crossed

With a layout of that standard I can't see many (if any) magazine editors refusing it.

And when it does feature in print, let us know and I will make an exception and BUY a model railway magazine!

Hi all.....progress slow this week due to swmbo coming out of hospital(14 weeks) :D have relocated some signalling at exe halt after sound advice from an expert on such things so it now looks more realistic.....I just need to fit double post at level crossing and ground signals for sidings
