A little progress to report. I've done a bit of looking and thinking, and waving sets of points around in the vicinity of the layout. Whether anything gets changed or not will remain to be seen however, I've till the weekend to decide anyway.
There has been, as mentioned in the previous post, been some work on small items for the railway. The luggage carrying trucks, sack barrows and scales are now partly painted

And most of the inmates for the scrapyard have now been prepared

Most of yesterday's work was aimed at restoring a Black 5 acquired at the weekend. It was loco only, and had been crudely brush painted in matt green. I stripped the body off, removed the hand rails, and returned it to black. While it was apart the running gear got a good oiling and adjusting up too.
With the handrails and whistles polished up and back in place it looks a whole load happier, and just needs its numbers.

The tender was acquired for 2 quid and is next for attention, as it really wants re-decalling. At some point I'd like to get a power tender for the Black 5 (if anyone's got one gathering dust...?!) so it can run under its own steam so to speak, but at the moment I'm quite happy with the idea of it being a dummy loco for double heading. Here Pendennis Castle takes it for a look around the layout.

Hopefully something a bit more exciting to report next week folks!
