You never know Hiffano. i was with my dad for a week in his wagon. A bonneted Scania. and flatbed hauling steel and wood. used the sat nav on one occasion told us to turn left down a one way street so we backed up as it was the wrong way and turned round in a junction. and where i live at the train station theres skid marks from trailers where there brought of the bridge. but theres a chance tgey wint get round the war memorial

Re: balsa road mk2 now haunted

Postby markh » Tue Jul 30, 2013 1:53 pm

well, balsa rd is advancing quickly, i have some fine mesh fencinh around the yard, reused two crossing gates from the old level crossing as gate for the rail entrance of the yard, added some shrubds around the fence to hide the foam board and looks better, built the platform using card & the grey reinforcing strips from the metcalfe station kit, fixed the shed after a door fell off & glued some figures down,

but it seems that balsa rd is haunted by its past. jim the signal man has reported seeing a shadow figure crossing the line where the old level crossing was, he thought it was a yobo crossing the line, but when he ran down to speak to him, the yob was long gone, ive asked him to get a picture of the person

Well its safe to say that balsa rd is complete. there has been more change. cinder path has been removed and a over geown disused line has been added. a piece of track and a metcalfe line side hutted added. once glued down thn the whole area covered in two layers of static grass befor foluge clumps added. some.black scatter was added and the shell of a car added. i also removed some grass from.the track so the rails show through.

another addtion is a burnt out brake van that was the mess van.. this was done by snapping the roof in half. then cutting the sides down then fileing it down to give it a realistic look of planks burming at diffrent lenghts. i then glued glued some plastic strips for the frame. i paimted the burnt area matt p black. i also glued some stips inside the van to represent the remains of burnt wood. one dreied i sprinkled in some bllack scatter for the ash. i tjem placed it nrxt to the yard..

i have also added a wall to the platform. yard and round the green. i have glued down some track enginners and also added a 15mph to the track denoting the track limit for the yardm

Well ive been making little progress on Balsa rd. First up is the platform Ive add a new top to reduce the huge gap from.the track to edge. and the second is the biggest change. I have removed one of the inspec pits. and have filled in the entire yard with pollyfilla. its took a few week but have got it all finshed.

ill get some photos loaded when the works finshed

long time since i did an update as not muc work done, but im gona try & rectify the layout & get it finshed so heres whats been done & what needs done

first up, Ive pulled down the old fence arounf the depot, cleaned up the rails in depot so itll run, & squared up the depot hard standing & removed the poly filla in the level crossing

now heres what needs done,
1) repaint the whole road & car park
2) fit some card in between the rails on the depot & car park,
3 ) fit new fencing around the depot to enclose it
4) clean up the entire layout & track
5) glue every thing down
6) buy & replace some of the broken over head masts
7) try & find a place for the bachmann yard office contaionrs if i think of add them as its a depot

so got that mess to do, clean the (AGAIN) build my show layout for this year, fix up the back garden Gonna be busy . Oh well he we go ho ho,
