With the arrival of the Beattie Well Tanks now excepted in September, i am organising the Autumn steam Gala. It will take place the weekend after the Beattie pair have arrived and will have a strong Cornish feel to it. Starring along side the beattie's will be T9 120, Port of Par Twins Alfred and Judy (bachmann Bill and Ben), 8750 class 4612, 4575 class 5526 (and autocoach), 45xx 4566 and Sentinel 13 (on shunting duties)
There will be double heading, banking, a goods train ( rake of china clays) plus hopefully this event will also mark the offical opening of the new (small) extension. This will hopefully give enough room for two sidings so i can pass trains at the other end of the line too!
More information closer to the event.
In other news, 6233 is now about to enter service, at the same time as 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley, so what better way to celebrate than to have a wartime weekend! The two pacifics will be joined by visting German 74 tank 74001 and residents 4612, 13 and 4496 Dwight D Eisenhower.

As a guess,I'd say this was 4468 Mallard,4498 Sir Nigel(both in blue),2509 Silverlink & 4498 again,but in the wartime black.
Ironically,I've made plans to create 4498 in the blue from a Falcon body.No more after that........
Nice wartime black version Kenny, but I'm glad you had it instead of me,as you appreciate it a lot more than I would've
OOOPS!!  Just looked to realise the blue 4498 is Dwight Eisenhower

I am now able to use my other camera to get gala photos! :D They should be of much better quality and it is to debut with the Branch Line Gala in a few minutes time.
In other news, the locomotive workshops are very busy at the moment. The Great Western Railmotor Society have moved into the sheds ready to start modifying the chassis for their project with the body also moving into the works in the near future. However, the railway also uses these workshops so the railmotor will have to wait before moving into the second bay of the workshops as Black Five 5000 is having a few repairs (a quick oil and wheel clean) after returning from the mainline. Once more boards and the new sheds have arrived, the Railmotor will move into what will be the museum roundhouse. I hope that on my holiday in Yorkshire towards the end of August to find some of the buildings i am after for Llanidloes Station including the bachmann 4 road engine shed and Hornby GWR station (if released by then)
So the Branch Line Gala will be happening today and the Diesel Gala will be tomorrow so watch out for photos!! :D

I may only have a couple of buildings and signals etc but i will get round to ballast and scenery one day, im one of these people who buy the trains but forget about the track and scenery

Anyway, i know the galas havent appeared but thats because i have decided to only have a limited number of them, keep it like a proper preserved railway.
So the next gala will be in september, the Autumn Steam Gala, dates TBA.
As posted previously, the theme for the September event will be 'Steaming through Cornwall' which will feature the debut of the Dapol Beattie Well Tank's 30585 and 30587. There maybe a slight extension finished by then too, just so extra trains can run. The following locos will run during the gala:
Ex LSWR Beattie Well Tank's 30585 and 30587
Ex LSWR T9 120
Ex SR Unrebuilt West Country 34007 Wadebridge
Ex GWR 45xx 4566
Ex GWR 4575 5526 (with matching Autocoach)
GWR 8750 4612
Plus the possibility of another guest (or 2) that are bought during my Yorkshire holiday (they might not be Cornwall related though!)
There will be Stevenson's Rocket on display along with a horse drawn tram and the possibility of a short narrow gauge running line.
Good trains will featured (made up of china clay wagons) as well as double heading and a dining service on saturday evening.
Thats it now, i will update if anything happens.
Locos subject to availability!
Kenny.
