Things are moving ahead on Monmouthshire Bank, Ive brought the required backscenes for the whole layout from the excellent Guagemaster range of heavy industrial settings.
Ive also brought some more buildings for the layout, these include a double storey portacabin set and fuelling point from the Bachmann Scenecraft ranage. I wanted the twin fuel storage tanks for the shop was out of stock.

Also an update on the progress of my locomotive fleet which is current at the Fulcan Works.

Good Evening,

Ive taken some mock up shots of my layout, it doesnt show the full trackplan but gives an idea of how it will look at the end.
As my locomotive fleet is away, my father has kindly loaned some of his British Railways locomotives.

An overview of the depot, the servicing shed to the left, with the fuelling point then to the right will be two locomotive stabling sidings and one fuel unloading siding.
Image

The portacabin will be further up the yard for the Rolling Stock lads, the main Depot Admin block will be behind the servicing shed.
Image

Looking across the yard. The fuelling point will be direclty oppersite the side doors of the shed.

The fuelling point.

Another across the shed front with Class 08 outside.

Looking forward to getting my 60's on shed soon.

Good Afternoon,

Just one new arrival to report 60048 Eastern in EWS colours equipped with Sound. The weathering is a tad to heavy for my liking so will need toning down a little plus it might be renumber and back dated into a EW&S locomotive.

Some just for fun. :D

Yes 60048 is certainly heavily weathered! It would look more at home in a storage yard! I like what you've done so far. The layout of the yard looks promising. 60033 looks nice with the blue livery applied.

Hello,

The good news is the three main baseboards are complete minus the backboards which are awaiting fitting. The control panel is in the advance stages of contruction along with the cradle to hold my controller.
Hopefully my complete loco fleet will be able to grace Mon Bank within the month :)

The next stop is to design and fit the track.....

Good afternoon,

Just a quick update from Monmounthshire Bank, the baseboards and backscenes are now fully complete just awaiting the application of photobackscences from Gaugemaster. Then its time to order the trackwork and the nice and easy task of wiring it all up and making sure it works !!!

The backscenes are secured to the baseboards via a series of bolts to ease transportation.
Image

Both the back and end boards are secured with bolts, the boards are very heavy without the backboards so with them would made the whole thing so heavy to carry.

Image

My plan is to have the layout 95% complete by this time next year, as I intend to operate it at the Northampton and District Model Railway Show, so its going to be tight !!!
The other hot news is that my locomotive fleet will be back from works attention on the weekend!.

Regards

Hello,

Excellent news my locomotive fleet has returned from main works attention, however 60048 was just to far gone has donated its undercarriage to 60033. 60048 has thus become the first member of the 100 strong fleet to be disposed of.

Sadly my camera is in for repair, so pictures wont be forthcoming for a few weeks, I hope to show them off on Monmouthshire Bank for the first time!.

Regards.

I dont go on Ebay anymore as I just buy more 60's !!! The 08s are Bachmann (RES) and Hornby (EWS & Mainline). I perfer the latter to be honest they feel more meaty if that makes sense ?!
