Just a brief update on the state of things. Well, I have four times the space I previously had. Nope, the loft hasn't grown, I have decided to scrap the start I've just made and go to N gauge!
I know it's a word change for someone as ham fisted as me but my love for the long trains has won out. Should get a great run in a 13 ft by 13 ft L-shaped layout. Just had some track and bits turn up today and had get my glasses on straight away!
Anyway, this change set my start back some what as I re-plan for the new scale.
So hopefully I'll have some progress report on soon.
Jas.... :D

No Luke - turn away from the Dark Side, there is only one true force in the universe, 00 gauge!!!

Seriously Jas - best of luck with your new project.

This Signature Left Intentionally Blank, but since I have written this and I intended to do it, this Signature is intentionally not blank. Paradox or What?

Now I'm not the best modeller out there with kits and I must admit I am struggling with the fiddly side of it all due to large semi numb hands!!!

Jas... :D

THEN you decide to go 'N Gauge?? :D

Cheers Jim, 'hmmm on the other side, strong the force is'

Point taken squire, but I didn't say I'm going to make kits in this scale did I?

Aaahh, another one seeing the light at last 8)
That is a very decent amount of space in N gauge - once you 'get your eyes in' there'll be no going back! OO will seem huge! Just think of those long trains and gentle sweeping curves - and you'll wonder why you didn't do it years ago

PNP, had the start of the track delivered yesterday so tonight I'll be measuring up the layout for clearances and everything else so expect to see a track plan of sorts within the next couple of days..
Going to start with a twin dog bone to get going then go from there once I get used to it all. Good use of the back scene and scenic breaks to hide the loops is in order to.
More to follow soon.

Laid the track out on the baseboard stage 1 this evening. Not powered yet though.

And again to show where the raised section is going to separate the board and cover the loops.

Until next time

Hi Jim, surprised myself with the change to! Going to be a while till anything is running due to lack of funds at the moment but going to continue on the woodwork front for now.
And Pete, surprisingly my eyes have adjusted fine, the track just looks right to me. Hands need time though!!!
Cheers chaps

Hi Jas,

Good luck with the new scale. I have been tempted before but I think it would frustrate me. OO is fidley enough for me most days! However, I do see the benefits of long trains and more landscape. I may try it in the future. Hope to see progress soon. I understand funds being tight. I'm sure we all suffer with that one

Keep it up mate

Thanks
Dan

Hi Dan.
Have been making reasonably good progress the past month or so and when I get round to it I shall post some pics of the current state of it.

Hi all.
Just thought I'd pop a couple of recent pics on seeing as I don't really post as often as I used to.

Just on with more woodwork at the moment making board number four. Only about 5 or so more to go!!!
The pics are only the start of what is to come, but I needed to do a bit of scenery to keep myself from becoming bored...

Also have scratch built my first n sized building...
