Flaxengate updates had got fewer and further between and I wondered whether it had been forgotten or abandoned. Glad to hear that's not the case. It's a potential little gem - looking forward to news when the time comes.

Well since my last update I have done a few things which I haven't posted. Mainly I have been building up retaining walls in the townside area of the layout. I have also tidied it up a little, there were tools everywhere until the other day.

Hi there

Not really done much on the layout, but progress all the same!

I've been putting in some polystyreen supports for the rest of the landscaping.

Notice the notches in the wooden formers either side of the track (below). Here I hope to add a horizontal limestone scar.

In the town end I have been making retaining walls. and platform walls. this was mentioned a while ago but I never put any photos up.

Comments and Criticisms please.

Looks better now it's thawed - glad there wasn't any lasting damage done

Are you going to use chicken wire for the banking?

Haha, there is some damage done though :(. The stuff set so hard that I am going to consider using it as a substitute for plaster.

Nah, I think I may go down the crudely cut card route, chicken wire is just too much hassle for a small area. By crudely cut card I mean I will be cutting pieces of card to fit across the supports. I will then plaster on top of this.

No criticism and my only comment at this point is to say I'm glad to see you back in business after such a long break. The "horizontal limestone scar" sounds a bit specialist so I'm curious to see how that manifests itself :)
