Great photos Richard, keep 'em coming. I always like seeing your update, so it would be a shame to see you disappear from here.

I recline to come here often as this sites still giving me problems.
However before falling to ill health i have spent the last 2 days detailing and modifying a hornby railroad class 31 to a blue pre-tops version.
Work involved has been scratchbuilt valances/new headcode box/roof fan/cab interiors and detail pipes one end.I have also fitted lights of some sought.
I am pleased with the result and was done as hornby dont do a pre-tops blue class 31.

Thks broadtrain.
Old oak is on tender hooks and a decision has to made with the possible dapol western jan 2013 release.
All my heljan westerns will be either be put up for sale for around £45 per loco but this depends on keeping my job around the time of release.
I have stock to trade in for at least 2 more on top of the 2 that i have all ready secured.
This again all depends if i am kept on in work.
I am also sure the dapol version will sell quickly as reports on the steam version from warley says only a few left.

A merry xmas and happy new year from me and old oak.
Lets hope all get want they wish for.
old oak has had a testing time this year and has had a reprieve for the time being.
The lack of work in the early part of the year plus the loss of our much loved dog star were a severe set back.
Things to look forward to are future employment and dapols class 52 which should be with us jan/feb 2013.
I have also took in 2 more hymeks as D7054 and blue D7066.
As mentioned due to problems with getting on this site i wish you all a festive and healthy period.

Hi, good to see an update. Love this layout. Gives a really good feel of grimy dirty locos doing their thing. So many little details to take your eye. Great job. Hope you are able to keep going with it

Thanks
Dan

Many thks guys and glad some still have stayed intouch.
most of the details with the locos involves adding roof grills/fans to the bachmann warships/heljan hymeks and the class 33.
All the hymeks have been fitted with shawplan metal numbers.coaching stock has also had minor detail added including bogie steps.
The hornby siphons have seen much a detail as to change there side profiles as they were produced by lima.
All things keep me busy in still testing times.

Hi Richard
Been ages since I last posted on here. Hope you and Tracey are ok. It's been far too long since we last met up but things haven't been too great lately with health and Claire's job. We will have to catch up soon though.

Good to see Old Oak is still about.

Just thought it time for an update.
Well the new dapol western has been a disaster for me.I have tried 3 versions,all derailed at various places and in doing so shorted out and all burnt out the blanking plates.
I have give up with them due to this and is such a setback and other than this is a fine looking model.
So I have decided to keep my heljan westerns and 2 more have been infact added to the fleet.
Other arrivals have seen a class 15 and class 53 D0280 both superb models.
The fleet now consists off.
2xclass08
class 14
class15
dapol class 22s 6319/6326
class 31 a modified railroad version.
1xclass33
hymeks 7007/7018/7035/7052/7054/7066/7097 and 7100
class 42s 809/821/827/832
class 47s 1590/1660/1662/1841
class 52s 1010/1011/1023/1030/1040/1041/1045/1054/1062.
class 53 0280.
departures have been 1035 and the class 50.
