So sorry to hear about the mutt. She is getting old as you say but doesn't make it any easier. A pet is a family member after all.

Hope you and Tracey are ok and will keep in touch.
See you soon

Thks guys,NSE daz as you know you gave me the inspiration of this layout albiet now gone back in time to the hydraulic heydays and thank you for this as nse is not completly gone as such.
The future will always be in the balance of this layout, and from time to time new stock is added through trade inns although the latest being a class 14 as D9521 was a temptation due to a sale at hattons on them.
The loss of our dog will be a great loss and is already affecting my wife badly and i will be the one to take her to put down and the layout will collect a bit of dust while we remember her.

The model railway industry is getting exciting but also expensive and with dapol coming up with the goods in both 00 and n gauge, and heljan producing more and more 0 gauge locos including a 31/52 and now a 40 what else lays around the corner.
Well for me the release of the dapol western i look forward to,and hope to still see all you great guys layouts in the near future.
some ,to many to mention are true great works of art and a good deal of time and effort has been taken and thanks again for sharing with us.
I cant see myself going from here yet,but as mentioned my layout has reached its time.
Thanks again guys and best wishes to you all what ever i decide to do.

Sorry another update posting here.
This week has seen the slow dismise of most off the nse era stock although some remains in which i did plan to keep but will know be sold on to trade in for future stock.
If i can and do remain in work my plans are.
possibly 3/4 dapol westerns.2 are already payed for.
modelzones 1662 isambard kingdom brunel wene they decide to release it.
possibly hornbys green new release class 31 although may look for a blue one and renumber before tops.
Hornbys D421 class 50 as would still have a 50 on the layout as a visiting one from the midland.
This will mean the 4 class 50s i have left being sold on which includes hood/ ark royal/exeter and rodney.
Off course a lot depends on the agency on working for although very busy at this time of year.
Losing Our pet dog star has also been a major set back.

Old oak common layout up until 2 days ago was working fine but a severe setback has seen a gaugemaster twin controller on track 1 which was powering the the turntable rails only refuses know to work and i have also noticed all my scratchbuilt signals seem to be on half brightness.
I stress i have done no further work to effect this and is mind bogglerling.
I also in testing the turntable on track 2 which works fine dropped one of my class 08s which did a lot of damage which hastly to say i have managed to fix.

They say a model railway is nether finished.
As i have gone back to the late 60s early seventys i noticed a few things to modern still around for the time.
Most late cars/vans have been removed. Also some off my backscenes have had to be replaced or will be replaced.
After visiting the showground model show last weekend i purchaced some excellant building backscenes but no where near enough.
Some class 47s have also be renumberd such as 1660 from 1841 two tone green full yellow and named city of truro and 1942 is now 1662 IKB.
Another hymek and D421 has arrived with finance coming fro the sale of some of my nse stock.
Also to mention i decided to re-do the washing plant to an earlier design and one that was situated in the carraige sidings.

Just to mention hymek D7100 ex 7042 was found on running inn to have the old type wheelsets.
On checking howes website i saw they are out of stock of the new type so i decided to re-wheel her with mk 1 spare wheels on the original shafts and the difference in running is a lot better.

Love those pictures Champ. You've got the workaday west Brush 4's down to a T. Always nice to see that late 60's early 70's era modelled so well and on such a London scale........excellent!
