Your layout is getting better by the second! Nice work. Did you scratch build the track?

Long time without an update, work is still progressing, mainly on scenery, and some new items of stock (which I have to stop buying!)
Couple of photos...

3650 Arriving with a workmans train sometime in the 30's, the 2 Ratio Kit built coaches are my latest acquisitions, built and painted by myself (although I haven't got the skills to line them out!)

Lovely Photos as usual, there is some real atmosphere in them!!
Your 3205, was that BR green already or did you respray her?

3205 started life as 3202 (I think) which was in BR lined green, the lining was then stripped off, and etched plates were attached, as simple as. :)

I've got to admit, that's some great work there!

Quick question, what colour paint do you use to weather the under-frames of your coaches? Your blue and grey/southern green MK1s are beautifully done!

Cheers,
Ben

I use a mixture of paints, Mainly Railmatch underframe dirt, or Sleeper grime, perhaps with some dark rust or chocolate brown, it depends on my mood or how weathered I want them to be :)

Got a couple more photos today too, both resident and visiting locos:

Couple of little updates,
I have acquired a Bachmann 4575 to supplement my fleet of growing GW engines, It's all part of a master plan to streamline my fleet, thus I have lost a couple of BR standard locos and the LMS Crab, replaced by a 117 DMU, 4575 and GW Hall (to become either 4920 Dumbleton Hall or 4953 Pitchford Hall, not decided yet)

the 4575 has arrived first, and has been duly transformed into 5542, complete with prototypical polished hand-rails and high bufferbeam number...
Image
As can be seen here, I've also purchased a GW liveried Hawksworth all 3rd, I may get a Brake 3rd in due course to make a short rake to mix with the Choc/Cream Mk1's, although, the Hawksworth, 2 Mk1s and a Bachmann Collett 3rd make a rather fetching preserved line style rake at this moment in time.

I have also built up an embankment at the back of the layout, and foliage is being added as funds and visits to various model shops permit.
Image

That's all for now though
:)
