Hi fair play something Welsh the only places in Wales i am famillar with is Newport, Cardiff and Swansea.
So have you decided on what diesel you will be having a 33/47, Western or a Vac :D .Your layout of course but i would choose the Vac or Western, although one slightly has the edge
What class is the Dmu, i am not at all familliar with theese but do no it is not a 108, 116, 117 or 121.

To change the name of the thread just go to your first posting and change it in the subject field. Don't change it completely though because many of us are enjoying the progress your making and we've bookmarked your thread!

That blue DMU is a class 110 (Hornby) , the front end is quite distinctive from other DMU models.

In real, the class 104 is similar looking & also known as a Park Royal

so have we come to an agreement? i thought it was 110 looking at photo's on the internet.
Thanks all for the encouraged comments, and Gavin, if the railway network was extensive as it once was, (railways practically going everywhere) that would be a good idea, but i think you'll have a better tea break if you just went to a vending machine in this day in time ;)

Thanks ,Stew

Just a couple of pics, of a failed 08 getting pulled away on a mixed goods by a 0-4-0, just for some people's enjoyments.
No actual progress on the layout though, school isnt allowing me to :(

Stu its your layout so im sure no one will make any negative comments, thisn is not NRM you know, it is called modellers licence and i use plenty of this. All my OC Vacs will be in large logo hardly realistic but it is my layout my rules. So i am glad you think on the same lines and at the end of the day it is your layout and some people will like others wont and if they do not that is there problem not yours.
Although some of your traction not my cup of tea, i think your layout is great.
cheers
Ian

Hi again, I don't suppose anyone has got any suggestions on what to do in between these two tracks?

The ones that form a loop i'm talking about, closest to the edge of the base board. in the right of the picture.

I will be greatfull for any suggestions.

Thanks, Stew.

Hi Stew,

You could probably have a small station halt, or possibly even an area of wasteland to weed up a bit. Or if you are really stuck you could perhaps make a disused line if you have any spare old pieces of track lying around. Have a look at what I did with an area I didn't know what to do with at the end of my station:

Image

I tore up some old steel Hornby track, gluing the sleepers in place and discarding the rails to one side. The ballast looks a bit mucky and there are weeds growing over the place. This will give the impression that the track layout in the area has changed at some point in the past.

Hope this gives you a few ideas.

Cheers,

Stuart.
