That's a little disturbing as I have a freelance diesel shunter on a Toby chassis and plans to chop a Toby down to size as shown on YouTube. I hope it's not a sign of things to come :(

a little update:

the QBR has decided to withdraw caley pug 0-4-0 No. 6 Ben-Y-Gloe for early overhaul so it can take part in the 10th anniversary of the QBR in 2013.

cosmetic overhaul is well underway with the loco revieving:

fully painted metal chassis (was bare blackened metal before)
repainted the smokebox, roof and cab back satin black,
painted cab interior grey
painted buffer beams red, added crew
given the loco (non prototyical) cab modifications inc. cab floor to roof ladders and bar
enlarged coal bunker things (there are 2 immediatly infront of the cab windows
silver buffers

as for the mecanical bit I am contemplating buying a new motor which, in theory, should give smoother running??? any thoughts?

What you could do is swap the chassis over with another 0-4-0st just for the gala, then get a caley pug from the railroad range or something after the gala?

yeah I could do Kenny. I would probs take the chassis off the 2010 collectors club model (as I need the other pug for the gala as well - both the caley pugs were the first locos on the QBR)

ideally I would love to hack away at the third pug to create the 0-4-2 that Hornby mag did :D

is it some form of hover train that you have secretly been designing?
If it steam and runs on rails i like it.
If its big, red and goes 'NEE-NAW' i like it

powered by "the force"

chassis was receiving attention at the time, it is currently a rolling chassis. ordered a new motor as the current one is about 12 year old and noisy

ooh i do envy what you've done with 'Ben-Y-Gloe' :P glad to hear that the motor turned up as well

the road surface looks really good now too :D

nice bus 8)

and i see your southern loco lurking in the background there, as well as your lovely cotswold rail 08 :D

however, in one or two of the pics of 'Ben-Y-Gloe' someone appears to have done a 'humpty-dumpty' and fallen off the wall they were sitting on :O i hope they are alright, and no need to send for a 00 scale ambulance, or all the 00 scale kings men.
