Pheobe's Yard 1990's OO

Postby daryl43068 » Wed May 12, 2010 3:48 pm

Hi All,

Thought I would share this with you, Pheobe's Yard, being build by my girlfriend and me. It is 6' 7'' by 14'' (2m x 0.35m) and based in the 1990s. It is our first layout and is somewhere where we can photograph our stock and have a little play.

The track will be Peco code 100 with Electrofrog points, and will be DCC operation. Here is the trackplan;

Image

It comprises of a shed area (modeled to look like the outside of a larger shed), fuel point and rail tanker discharge point.

Image

The view with the HST on shed road 2, the EWS 67 and my girlfiends 37 on shed road 1, the 08 and wagons on the arrival/ departure road, and the 3 vans are in the fiddle yard.

Image

The other end of the layout, with the three post vans on the sector plate, 60074 on the fuel point and 67027 infront, tankers on the unloading siding and the shunter and wagons on the headshunt for the shed, although it should be curved and link up with the double slip just visible. The Grand Central HST powercars are sitting on the fiddle yard roads.

Any comments welcome!!

well have fun building it! The points you've got down at the moment are a bit useless but they looked real the first time i saw the pic. Also how do the top 2 tracks connect up?? After the layout is started, there is that urge to extend!

I dont get ya mate :?

The top two are connected by a sector plate, kinda like half a turntable. Train drives on and it pivots at the far end. the 'free' end is then moved up to the top two tracks.

Here is an example;

Hi All

Following on from from my run round thread linky here I have had amajor re-design of the layout. The new track plan is;

Image

And in real life, looking towards the three road shed;
Image

Looking at the fuel line with the TTAs at the unload point, the 37 taking fuel and the coach is just another place to put a loco;
Image

And an overview of the layout. The 37 and two coaches are on the sector plate, and the two tracks on the far left hand side is the fiddle yard;
Image

Baseboard construction will hopefully start nex week :D

Many thanks,
Daryl
