Hi Tom, even though that the Q1 looks ugly, it has that feeling that you just can't resist it. the more i look at it the more i like it.
Can't wait for the Ivatt.
Thanks, Stew
(shame about the plunge that the Q1 took, Ah well, it's all part of the fun.)

Having received a couple of coats of black over the last few days, she was bought outside for 1st coat of varnish where I was able to take a few photos.

Oh yes! I found some more in my bag along with Precision GWR grey. Was that you?
Transfers on order...not sure of the number yet. She will be a Southern one, its just a case of choosing between the Mid Hants one, or the one I have in 00...or even another?!

Been a while, been waiting for ABC to deliver the Ivatt's gearbox, after nearly a month there is no sign, so I decided to crack on with the lining and numbering.
So the exterior of the loco is practically finished, and here are some shots before last coat of varnish today:

The loco has become 41306, which, some of you may know, is the 00 gauge Ivatt tank conversion I did on Whimsey Hill and being a Southern built and based Ivatt is right up my street!
Next, when money allowes, she will have a SWD LMS 2-cylinder sound chip fitted. (That is if SWD ever become less reluctant to sell me anything for some reason!)

Excellent weathering well done,

Thanks Jack,
Originally she was going to be pristine, but my failure to be competent at the lining meant a little weather was done to hide some of the mistakes!

That is excellent, made good use of the spray frame dirt I put in for you then! I'm guessing you didn't put the motor back in and wire it for 2 rail then?

Gearbox turned up for the Ivatt this week and will soon be fitted, as soon as I can find a tool suitable to remove the wheels!

He's ordered the same as I have in my 56xx, and that is a... *goes and checks 56xx* 3 stage with a Maxon motor, I forget the ratios, Tom may know when he shows his face on here next.

It's a 3 stage 30:1 gearbox with a 6W Maxon Motor fitted.
