Heritage Line Layout-a change of plan

Why a heritage line? Lack of self discipline, if I take a liking too a particular loco or other vehicle it isn't going to look out of place. Also every siding filled with stock and hardly room to move, is being true to type. So here's a few pictures of where I'm at.

I still don't know how she sat there without disturbing anything, but that look says "Just you try moving me."

A ginger female cat??????? I always understood only males could be ginger and only females could be tortoiseshell.

I have to shut the cat out when I run anything, as it goes flying with one swipe otherwise.

We thought the same but she's ginger just like her mom and her sisters. She only go up there because I'd been working on the junction end of the layout and had left my work table out, which made a useful step. Otherwise it's too high for her to jump.

I'm back with a few more pics
Pannier tank rounding curve (some say it's a corner) behind loco shed.

somebody forgot to open the shed doors one morning, hence no doors and timber in primer above the door opening. If you can spot two patches of masking tape floating in the air behind the signal cabin, they are stuck on the end of WIT wire for signals, to save me poking my eye out

Arriving at branch line station.

It's a cut down version of the one at Abbottsbury. The stonework is a Superquick stone sheet, scanned and enhanced then printed on paper from a manilla folder.

The return trip, emerging from that "corner" hidden by the loco shed, an orchard and a field with a barn in it.

More home made stonepaper. Trees are from sedum heads harvested from our garden.

Crossing the canal viaduct

Next time I'll remember to put a fill in lamp pointing down the back of the viaduct. Shadows of the arches cast on the backscene spoil the effect.

Wow - love the first panoramic photograph and the subtle atmosphere that the backscene gives. Be great to see a trackplan and any earlier construction photos. Trees look good too - did you dry the sedum heads? -

Lovely layout like the detail, looks fun to operate and its also very good its a heritage railway as you say can run anything you like and doesn't look wrong in its surroundings.

Sedum heads hung under porch for about a fortnight, then given a good shaking.

Backscene is the view from the main road through our village, about a dozen shots stitched into a single panoramic image, then printed out in overlapping sections with the joins following natural lines like hedges and field boundaries. The atmospheric effect is entirely by good luck. It was done with a 2megapixel camera and blown up a lot, so it started to loose sharpness.

I'll do a track plan and I have some shots taken during track laying.

I have a similar "problem" with cats, x3.
Sooty (who appears on my layout thread) likes to pop into the loft from time to time to check up on me...
The 2 ginger ones - Timmy & Tommy The Terrible Twins - enjoy sitting back to back on the fiddle yard tracks.
They have earned themselves the nickname "Inter-Kitty 125"...

I shall be watching this one...
