Holly Oaks - N gauge

Postby phil sabin » Sun Feb 21, 2010 2:30 pm

Holly oaks is a 6x2 N gauge layout.

The era I model is dated from early 1980's to present, Although I run pritty much anything from BR blue to steam specials.

The layout is just a basic 2 main running lines and a MPD between two road bridges.
The mainlines run for just over 4ft between two bridges,
I went for peco concreate sleeper streamline track for the mainline and the old woodern type for the MPD and sidings.

That looks interesting - any chance of an overview / layout plan ?

I could be wrong but they look very much like Viessmann ones - £46 for 10 from Gaugemaster

(may be available at other shops, prices may vary, all purchases subject to conditions, your home is at risk if you fail to wire them properly and blow it to bits  )

Yikes, when I looked at that second picture before I was so absorbed with the crane I completely missed the fact it's lifting an engine from the loco

Don't think I've ever seen that modelled before - nice one :)

Thanks for all your replies, Some of you may know me as Porkie on other sites
I think ive sorted my picture problem out.
Sorry southern boy, I think it messed your post as the image has gone :( .
I will try and find an over veiw image for you although the depot area keeps changing but I think Im happy with my current plan.
The Idea of the hoist lifting the power plant came from some images I saw on the net. Which I have never seen modeled either

My OLE mast are Viessmann, I Managed to pick them up cheap a few years back on E-bay for £25 for 20  Ive just got to hang the wires now

Cheers Phil

What a lovely layout! I thought my modelling skills had improved tenfold then for a moment  Then I reread the subject.

Will stay tuned for updates.
cheers, Mark.
