Crick Road Update: Good derailment yesterday, three cement tanks off at a curved point.
IC&L Update: Barring a few tiny details, the layout is now complete. The roof is resting on top of the factory. Photos will eventually follow.

Re: 47806's Two Layouts (Crick Road and the IC&L)
Crick Road Update: Nothing to report.
IC&L Update: As promised, a few photos of the layout:

The local freight sits in the siding at Cabot.

An overview of the completed layout.
It has been very much a "when the mood strikes" project but it has been enjoyable and I have been able to build up my collection of North American stock.

Hello Thomas,
Nice Lay-out, mate, and I love the caboose. Is this section named for Cabot Bay?(as in John Cabot) Will you be returning to UK in the near future? The Lay-out is looking great. Keep-up the good work,
Kind Regards,
Michael Thornberry.

The caboose is one of my favourites too! They were phased out in Canada about 1990 so I missed them (having said that, I have seen two on special trains this year). The name Cabot is loosely based on the explorer but I picked it because it can be pronounced in either French or English. I will post a few more photos at some point, I might take the outside to get some proper light.
I will be returning to the UK later in the year, York to be precise!

Off to Uni? Anyhow- sure you'll be in the National Railway Museum often!
Also, there is probably some more photographic interest and opportunities in that locale especially with the ECML than Cambridge? (Though you did get some good pics around Ely!)

Yes, I am studying history, the uni's Institute of Railway Studies and Transport History is a good goal to aspire to. I will always have a soft spot for Ely, the setting was constantly changing and I still think that some of my best photographs were taken there. I have been doing a little research about the York area and I will no doubt have a good look around once I am there.

Crick Road Update: Nothing to report.
IC&L Update: Details are finished and I have declared the project officially complete. The only recent acquisition was Walthers EMD F40 number 6404 (VIA Rail). Here are a few shots before the project is left to gather dust while I am in the UK.
