Great pics, very interesting to compare the two. I think the Lima colour is more accurate.......though I'm not a stickler for accuracy and would choose the Lima colour even if it wasn't the most accurate. Surprised that there is such a colour difference tbh.

yeah i think that's what swayed me the most. the hornby one looks VERY pink-like next to the lima one :?

I don’t get hung up on the number of rivets – if it looks like a # it is a #

I like the overall look of the Lima one

agreed. but there's little between them otherwise, except hornby's 'one size fits all' 0-6-0 chassis and the fact the lima one's stouter! :D

It should be pointed out that this is the old Hornby model and the new one is apparently vastly superior...

Hi Mikol !!

That's great!! What good comparisons you make with the photos. Well done mate.

Yeh !! I like Lima, ever since I bought my first on the Bay a few months ago. I have 3 now and they're great, both for running and for looks and I'm not a diesel guy.

My Best Regards

BILL.

true.

second post on page 17 says its the old one, in case you missed :P

and, as superior as the new one is, i'm not paying £54.99 (or whatever the rrp is) for a 08.

£23 including postage is a much nicer price :D

Depends what level of detail you want I guess.

I just pointed it out because some people are more willing to pay for the newer model and may not have read earlier in the thread that this was the old Hornby model and not the new one, potentially leading to false impressions of the current Hornby quality..

OK, time for a much needed update!

Grabbed some woodland scneics foliage off some silly auction site and have immediately put it to work.

The weather is closing in even as we speak...and in 1:76! All those lovely Autumnal colours! Very picturesque. Can I say it's very pretty? Or does that sound a bit too...you know...g*y?

What the hell! I like it! Looks good to me!

Looking great. Comparison was great. I personally detest the OLD hornby model 08 so bad

Love the recent pictures.
