Hi all, well my baseboard is finally finished
(3 kids and one of them being 4 months old hasn't left me a lot of time to work on it)
,hopefully i'll be laying some track today,if I get the time and if I can decide on what plan to use!

Hopefully i'll have some pics for you later.
Cheers

Hi Ste,
We (my daughter and I) have decided on a plan, unfortunately due to these old houses having uneven floor boards, i've had to mess about with the baseboard instead of laying track and no pics either!
No particular era!

Well I managed to get some track laid out today!
This is the right hand side of the layout...

and now the left....

I gave the 37 a run out to test the track,it worked quite well, but it does seem to slow at some stages and this is probably due to the old track needing cleaning.

I need some more curved track for the inner loop, more points for the sidings and some ballast.
Should I paint the boards or leave them as they are?
Cheers
Daz

Cheers for that Jack,I might be using the foam track underlay as I don't want to fix the layout permanently and so I may not need to paint. Has anyone used the Peco track underlay
right here's what the finished layout will look like.......hopefully!
The outer Loop....

The inner loop....

Hopefully do a small amount of track laying today, testing and cleaning of the layout.
More pics to follow!

Small update.....
Right I managed to get some track laid today,I've removed the points connecting both loops as I want to keep them seperate for now. I've made the size of the outer loop slightly smaller,as I wanted to have more room at the ends of the baseboard......

Right hand sidings added....

Need some curved track for the inner loop and more points for sidings on the left hand side of the layout. Hopefully more updates soon....
Cheers

Looks good, i think that 125 is a bit long for the siding though

Don't ya just love them!!!
Me? Nah, not really
Personally I don't think it IS too long for the sidings - it's completely blocked the exit and rightly so cos it's the ONLY train to run!!!

Seeing that one, and Tim "Infrontcat" 's one, I really wish I had a good ole "blue an' yella" but it would be out of period for my layout

Might still have to get one at some point though, even if I have to run it in secret
Well, if it won't fit in the sidings it'll just have to stay out on the mainline . . . what a shame eh?

One of my absolute favourite models, being that it was the first I ever received.
Enjoy building the layout!

I didn't know you liked them Paul!
Right i've had a change of plan,i'm going to make an upper level and have this as steam only, scenic line. The main line at board level will be the HST's domain, the second line will be freight only and have the sidings.
