Hi Ron I've only just come across your layout thread, I was looking at your castle and thinking that looks like Conway, not realising thats what you model it on, you've done an excellent model recreation.

I envy the space you have. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos, I am also using a digi camera for the video shots and like you, I can't justify the cost of a proper video camera, but it would be nice to have one.

Thanks to all for the comments - good to get a boost after 6 weeks of camera / computer problems !!

= Pete : Nice looking castle. What have you used for the stone effect?

Hi Pete,
The top part of the castle is just wrapped in a home made paper!!
I took a photo of a section of the stone from Conwy Castle - scaled it , copied it , printed it -- et voila !!!
The materials used for the base are kitchen towel soaked in finishing plaster. The paintwork /weathering is several coats of well diluted artist's acrylics. I have also scribed the stonework with the back of a craft knife to give a l'arge stone' effect.

Cheers
Ron

Thanks again guys !!
Aidan , here's another small video

Bill , The white square bridge is an attempt at the Conway tubular bridge. The viaduct is based on a French one and dates from my first french layout !!

Great video Ron. Shows off the new bridge quite well, doesn't it?

I'm hoping to catch a glimpse of the 'real thing' again when I pop up to my mum's on the A55 some time soon.

Cheers Mate,

Tim

Great to get these comments from you people !!
Bill , the space is my basement which takes up the full 'footprint' of my house - One of the great benefits of properties in France.

Unfortunately the video below has highlighted the poor state of my HM2000 . Both off switches don't work and one channel cuts out at 50% power.
I've put up a separate thread in the 'electronics' section to get your advice !! - please contribute if you can !!!
Thanks
Ron
