Finished! really? Doesn't that mean it's time to start on the next one?

Just joking: I see you mentioned working on a timetable - any other plans for fine-tuning other areas of interest?

The layout really is looking good :)

I am starting the next one - this weekend! Only this time its a smaller layout intended for exhibitions (so it'll have to be better than Long Newton, methinks) and is being built with a friend.

Not really any more plans, no. Just need to figure out how to operate it rather than just play trains. Thanks for kind comments.

This has been a great thread and so nice to see a layout go from baseboard to finished article.... a real pleasure to read.

Well done

Hello Mike,
I passed through Long Newton, today, on my way to visit my Aunt and Uncle in Elton. Doesn't change too much, except the locals look older than they used to do  It was 12 years since I was last there, so that would explain it. I'm looking forward to seeing this new-build of yours. Have you got any ideas to Post, yet?,
Kind Regards,
Michael Thornberry.

Hi Michael,

I haven't been to Long Newton in a number of years I must admit. I regularly go back to Stockton to see family, though.

The new layout is under construction - it consists of 2 levels, a station at the back and a diesel depot below that towards the front. It is being built with a friend and we've been so busy building it (all track is laid and the wiring is now being done) that we haven't discussed whether or not to put it onto the internet. If we decide to, I'll post a new topic up with it in.

Thanks for the interest!

Took a few pictures at the weekend so thought I'd post a few here. Have added a few posters to the station (which the camera didn't want to focus on, naturally).

Some great new pics there Mike. Looking forward to my layout arriving from The goods yard later this week so I can get cracking :)

It'd be good to see photos of your new project

Hi Mike what is the original NSE Vac? i am guessing Ramillies or Renown but i am not sure but obviously a short plate as not visible in the pic so it could even be Howe?

This has been a great project to follow. Love the shot of the depot.
