Marks Large Attic Conversion Layout

Hello

This is the startings of my attic layout, we had our loft converted solely for this project and having finished the plan of the track in HVR2 after about a year of tweaking it i have finished up with a layout that is 16 foot by 5 foot for the main line section and then has two 15 foot by 2 and a half foot sections, one being a main terminus and the other a goods yard with turntable etc.

As you can see from the photos below i have also spent the last year buying all the bits i need (Ebay is a wonderful thing!!) and i am now starting to lay the track etc which is very exciting!!

I shall post more photos as i progress if anyone is intrested?!

Hi mark any chance of showing some upto date photos of your layout as it would be nice to see it with the track laid out.

Well mark after having a run around your layout on my HVR program is wow that is a brillant layout you have designed and you got plenty to do on there and alot track like me which i like,you've got more out of the HVR program than i ever have done and everything is amazing about it from the station to the depot area on the otherside of the layout.


I like how the river comes in alongside the suspension bridge towards the station where the mallard is and i like how the hills are done with the churchs on top of them with the paths leading to them,having the small village near the station is a nice touch too as you will always need a village for a small country station and i think you should always have a tunnel somewhere on the layout to make it look if trains are going somewhere.

And i am looking forward to the photos as this is a layout to watch grow aswell with others layouts on here.

Wow! What an amazing trackplan! So much operating potential. I'm also jealous at the sight of your huge pile of model railway stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of this as it develops. :D

Looks like a great layout to operate and you already have a load of things to put on it as well.
