Yewstan Street Station-preserved railway-rocky update!

Postby trains! » Sun Mar 22, 2009 9:22 pm

Hi people, this is my first layout. i had a trainset on a board which was 2 loops and an inglebook. I then got bored of it, so looking on the net for ides for a new layout i found out about making layouts scenicly and all that. So i decided to make a box file. It came out ok and is now for sale. (pm me if intrested.) So after my boxfile i got busy with the wood  and ended up with this:

Overview of layout from bed-
Image

I plan to run mainly steam, with a hint of some deisel. I plan to have GWR days LMS days LNER days and diesel days! So i am only aiming 3 rakes of stock (2 passenger and one demonstration freight) Here is a plan of what i want (differen boxes representing different things)-

Image
White polystrene box represents signal box
the glue bottle to the end of the board (going inwards towards the corner of the L shape) represnets the urban bit.
On the overview were the box is over the tracks that is tunnel. where the tunnel is that will go about 2ft and 1ft high at its peak. It will hold a small village and have farms on the rest of it. The main reson is it will cover most of the fiddleyard.

Here is my current list of what i plan to get stock wise Red is stock i have already-
LNER
Mallard bling bling style
LNER jinty (fictional ino but looks good)
LMS
pug?
Undecided

GWR
Cornish riviria express
small GWR train with rake of GWR 4 wheel coaches
undecided loco with cattle wagon

DIESEL
37 with blue/grey mk1's
North riviria trains
sprinter northern trains

GENERIC (mainly stock for the shop, coke waon (currently in workshop) , merchandise wagon etc etc.
Food and drink rake, not fully decided whats in ti yet.
merchandise stock rake

Updates every 2 weeks.Reason is, is my layout is at my mums, and my mum and dad are split up and i do 1 week 1 house other week other house. :(

EDIT:And also a logo!

Hi guys, Update! I have started work on part of the hill, finished rusting the track, and did a bit of ballasting. Which btw ballasting is fun! Its your friend!!! Without it where would our railways be?
