Done some ballasting on a small section of the layout which, I have to be honest, doesn't look that great, added some trees and figures and took some new pics:

A passenger awaits her train as a 150 is 'given the tip'

The car park fills up with all the regulars for the pub down the road

A 142 rumbles over freshly laid ballast as the track gang discuss their next move

60033 waits for its next duty

57003 stands outside the shed

I've also added Pantograghs to my319 models.

A Brecknell Willis type for the 319/3

And a Stones Faiverley for the 319/0

Apologies for the delay in responding, been offline for two weeks.

60033 is in EWS/British Steel blue, it was one of two so painted (60006 being the other, which I also have a model of), but only carried the livery a short while, as British Steel changed to Corus and the pair were repainted silver with Corus Logos

I have done some more ballasting on this layout now, photos soon, watch this space!

looks great so far but i only have one thing to pick.

it would of been better if you weatherd the rails before ballasting but it can still be done, would be abit of a challenge now though. If your not going to weather the rails then Never Mind :P

Thanks, I had intended to weather the rails a bit, when I get the latest ballast pics online it hopefully will show the rest of the ballast at a lower level making it easier to do, hopefully!

Thanks, I like it busy, although its not everyones cup of tea. Most of the cars are from Morrisons, 69p each or 2 for £1, they even have London Taxis for £1 each, but their range is a little limited, too many mercs and beamers for a town. They don't do buses or lorries either, so they came from Wilkinsons (lorries) and Corgi (buses). Some cars where pinched from the little one (don't tell him! ), and some of the American cars by the Garages are from Hot Wheels.

The 319 has been built for a while but the pan had not been built for several weeks for various reasons, I'm about to complete the second 319, just waiting on motors.

 ......How can I put this in a polite way?...........No, not a chance. :)

The second one is Con(n)ex South Central minus logos, as would have been seen on the MML a few years back. Neither really fit the layout, but as I learnt to drive on them how could I not get one or two?

Good old Connex hey :D :D Nice little kit.

I saw a 321 kit somewhere to, how do you moterise them?

But i suspose you could adapt the couplers and have beening towed with a barrier vehicle.

Its a very nice kit, easy to build, a few flaws though, and they ain't cheap either.

There are three 321 kits and a couple of others for similar classes, they are all easy to motorise. There is a raised section to the chassis base above one bogie on each vehicle, remove the plastic which is designed to hold the bogie on and drill out the hole and a Black Beetle fits in nicely.

Adapting the front end couplers supplied is a no-no, they are basic to say the least, I could modify the front end with Kadees for being hauled, but none in these liveries have ever been hauled north of Bedford! I'll just use them when no-one is looking! :D

Very nicely made 319 models there! Did you paint them yourself? Had a cab ride on one many moons ago when they used to run from Sevenoaks to Bedford, they don't 'arf go on the overhead! Far better than on the third rail, love the layout by the way, i like a bit of busyness! :D .

Thanks, Yep, hand painted with a brush (freehand, no masking, you can tell in places!). Loads of the drivers hate them but I liked driving them, ok not exactly comfy, but I still enjoyed it.

More pics on the way soon!
