Re: The NEW Wenchford Railway
To quote the name of a Genesis song;
'Anyway'
The GCR 9J is still mid painting process and looks a bit of a mess at present, it is also waiting on the tender wheels to arrive and the plates. it still needs further painting and tidying up and varnishing as well as lining and further varnishing.
Here are a couple of photos of it in the depot at Wenchford.

Re: The NEW Wenchford Railway
Hi Dan
got a couple of questions for you,
firstly, where did you get the nameplates for your model of 6024?, been looking online at Fox and Modelmaster, I know the fox kits include the smokebox numberplate and cabplates, are the modelmaster kits the same?
also are they easy to fit?, been meaning to get around to re-numbering my BR Liveried 6002 and turn it into 6024, but a bit nervous about making any mistakes,
next question, where do you get your loco lamps from?, the only place I have ever seen them was at the greatly missed Harrow model shop ( never got round to picking a few packs up).
any advice will be appreciated
cheers

Re: The NEW Wenchford Railway
Probably get from Guilplates and attach them with a spot of gel Superglue, as it doesn't run and make a mess and use some tweasers to hold it and drop it roughly in the right spot.

Re: The NEW Wenchford Railway
Stu, I take it 6024 will be your first renumber job? It was mine, when doing the name plates there are 2 different approches you can have, No1 doesn't look so good but it easier, simply glue the brass ones on top of the printed ones, approach 2 is more risky but can look better if successful, remover the existing nameplates from the middle driving wheel splasher using very sharp scissors or a knife then glue the new plates in place holding with tweezers. if you need any further advice or help feel free to PM me anytime. good luck.
