We'll all get there eventually..

With help from people on here the process should be quicker than otherwise..

Anyway, a progress report:

First coat of the room colour is half way around the room...

1 and a half coats to go, then the gloss painting and everything can be moved back into the room for Honeywell to really get going.

Just gotta do the glossing now and I have a room ready to sort out my workstation in there ready for the Honeywell build.

The room is almost complete at last and I've been rebuilding my workstation (with the help of my lovely assistant Emma..)

Looks like you have a good space for the layout.

The blue paint gives instant sky.

Look forward to seeing pictures with the layout in.

The room is about 5m square.. A fair old size and hopefully I'll make good use of it..

I was thinking the same about the colour when I decided on blue...

Might get clouds yet :P

Rich

What's your plan then, something around the walls, or a table type layout in the middle of the room?

Nice bit of decorating, though it looks as if your dog is about to be devoured by the cleaner.

Buster Bunny, Bill the Hamster, Benson the Retriever (who we're looking after for two weeks) and Tony the hamster (not on the picture)

Buster may become a permanent feature of the room (his hutch anyway.. he has free roam of the bungalow when Benson isn't here)

Bill is only in there to give him a break from having a huge wet nose at the cage.. he doesn't like Benson.

As for how Honeywell will be.. It starts just to to right of where I'm stood taking that picture, travels round the long wall on the right, under the window.. then after that who knows.

I'm going for the honour of being the person with most pages about the layout without having a physical layout presence..

Here are some random sketches...

May or may not make sense.

Ignore the knackered perspective and the (very) badly drawn engine shed..

hmm I'd better get posting in my own Personal Layout topic.

Those are actually pretty good drawings. I like the engine shed, do you have a model of it already?

Thanks guys..

Nah, everything is raw from my head.

Nothing modelled as yet, but eventually something suitable may emerge from the darkness...

...thereby allowing the Friday night darts and beer ritual with my dad.

I thank you.

I tried to make joints like that on my layout. I decided it was too much like hard work :^) They do look nicer though.
