Well seeing as yesterday was payday, it would be a shame not spend some cash....so after buying more points and other bits and pieces etc i was able to today almost finish off the track laying for the TMD area, so here are a few pictures for you to peruse over...I am so far pretty pleased with it all 8)

well bit of a small update tonight...i bought a kit the other day to build some inspection pits and all i can is, it was a whole long drawn out process, that could simply haven taken less time by using 5mm foamboard. As an example it took me approx 2.5 hours to build them to find out that all i was doing was gluing together like 4 peices of card to make a 5mm thicknes!!

Anyway, with the fact that i have to build 2 more i took the decision to improvise and make my own - the result- 2 x10 inch inspection pits made in 35 minutes so i am pretty pleased. Ill get some pictures up the weekedn as i want to at least get some more interesting work showing the slow but little progress i am making 8)

Hi sludge,
Take your time & dont rush any modelling work, the best results are often time consuming, but well worth the extra care needed & time taken for the resulting model achievement.

hi dagenham - thanks for the support. currently i am working on the TMD area. The track has been laid and the pits "dug" out after making them from 5mm foamex. I have then used filler for the whole of this area to replicate a concrete feel to it. However due to some unfortunate sad family reason, i have not been able to do anymore yesterday or today. The plan is hopefully to do a few hours on this area this week, spray it grey and then fit the TMD 8) After that it will be case of doing the station. I have all the bits and peices cut out and glued and pressed flat ready fro construction.

0121- cheers buddy, i am really beginning to see this in n gauge. The cutting out and fiddly bits etec for models seems to take som uch time and doesnt look like you actually get anywhere lol

hi alex- i made the inspection pits myself using 5mm foamex. Yes eventually at some point this week il be getting either the Farish or Knightwing fuelling kit, and the fuel lines etc....as for the ballasting i did that today which took about 3 hours to do using a small painting brush ensring the ballast was pushed almost under the points....

i am hoping tomorrow if the ballast is dry to "weather" the tracks with an oil effect and i have a bit of an idea tbh by using this..http://www.lawardrobesupplies.com/KIWI- ... p/2851.htm you can get it from Poundland like i did today for obviously a £1, and i am going to experiment with this and how it looks.

your like me experimental. i had a go at weathering with acrillic paints.... FAIL. i thought that if you get a container like one from a take away fill it a wee bit with colour then dip the metal part f the track in then wipe off the paint on the top off the rails then leave to dry mite work. its untried so be carefull. cherrs
