Matt, superb work as always, and the quality of lining is very good indeed. That C class almost makes me want to have a go at building it, and the repaint of the H is much better than the original. I look forward to further developements with interest, and can I put in a petition for you to do a SECR mini-gala at some point now you've got all these lovely lined locos? The Bluebell must be thinking along the same lines given their H is due out of the works early next year.

You going to the High Wycombe show this weekend? Should be in your neck of the woods.

Hey Mighty

Thank you, i still dont think it was one of my best efforts although the frame lining went better on this one than the O1, but still came out reasonably well. I'm sure they will all feature in a future video... probably some sort of Branchline weekend or something in the new year, as they usually run the C-Class with the mets, i would imagine they would tag 178 and 323 if its finished in front of that.

Yes the H i only did a little bit of painting on it as it was such a good paint job in the first place i didn't want to detract from that and just opted for lining of the running plate and new SECR letters and logo.

Regarding Wycrail i will be there, not sure what time from but i should be there sorta mid afternoonish maybe early afternoon pending what time the rest of my partners family are arriving. so yes ill be there.

yes sadly probably in every forum there are still bullies and idiots.. who want to make peoples lives a misery, we are all here for the same thing.. so whats the point? I know moderators can't be everywhere at same time and read every problem, but they should act on blatent bulling.

Anyway thanks for your comment Bsa77, just ignore them if possible and dont let them bring you down, everyone has a right to be here.

I hope you enjoy the Bluebell on sunday hope its decent weather, and hope they have some decent locos in service.

Re: Horsted Keynes - East Grinstead, OO, No 3 Baxter (Complete)

Postby mattmay05 » Wed Nov 17, 2010 5:04 pm

Today marks the day that the Pug Conversion to No3, Captain Baxter was completed, Those who have followed the progress on the Kit building section of the Forum, (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=29828&start=0) it has taken just over 3 - 4 weeks to complete.

It had its first loaded run and worked very well on its standard number of wagons / trucks which was about 4 - 5... which is about realistic as you can be, despite adding more weight to it.

A video will be up in the not to distant future showing some running of Baxter and the C-Class...

For now some pictures:

Absolutely terrific and you make it look so easy. You've really captured the look of the prototype.

This is quite a impressive transformation from a L&YR Class 21 to Baxter. Although I have not seen the proper model it looks very faithful :D
