Thanks guys, you're comments are much appreciated and cheers for the technical advice since I joined last month!
This layouts my first serious attempt at modelling and is a long way from completion. It's about 12 foot by 12. 3 tailchasers (2 up, 1 down connected by a ridiculously steep incline in the 6 road(inadequate) fiddle yard) and a terminus station and 1 small station. It's called Leith Baltic street, a fictitious dirty Edinburgh late 60's scene, hence Grotland.
The baseboard is several heavy 3/4 inch chipboard sections with some appaling bodges and unorthadox wiring + one massacred mfi pc desk. It could never be exhibited as it's part of the roof of the house now and it's controlled from the centre. The lofts a pyramid, with obtrusive diagonal battons in the corners meaning the 2 outer loops have to descend steep inclines to clear the huge horizontal beams behind the backscene .
I'll post some more pictures of the main station area and the track plan.
Thanks again
