Just out of interest Dave what do you do to your 37s? Obviously you respray them, but do you fit etches or what?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes those 4 are Rails L/Es

The rest of my fleet are 47s/37s bought off ebay then stripped down and repainted - I don't bother with a detailing kits but will redo handrails, horns and buffers.

Sorry to see this one closed - I didn't join the ballasting debate but I always believed that the operation of a layout was more important than the nice looks and declined to ballast for the very reason that your layout has caused you problems . Some succeed , I didn't see the point in failing. I settled for a card coated styrene underlay which suffices for me.

Anyway , I hope that Eastfield Major rises from the ashes !!
- I fondly remember my visits there in the 80s .
I'm surprised that you've not ventured into the Heljan 26/27 fray .

Whatever happened to the ETHEL ? did you complete it ?

Best of luck
Ron

Thanks Ron.
ETHEL is completed and looks grand.
There are drawbacks on the 26/27 front which I've gone into on other threads. Basically 27s were gone for the time period I'm modelling and there isn't a 26 in Blue with tops numbering and without that blasted tablet catcher!

Shame, the layout was looking good. Good luck with the next project, we all make mistakes and the next project is always better because of what we have learned.

Very true. Eastfield North will rise again, but I'm taking the opportunity to gut the room and decorate it before starting over. Warley will probably see me buying new track...if the price is right :D
