AMAZING Layout. Photos were perfectly on time as stated in the letter :P.

I really wish my layout was as good as yours. Lots of inspiration taken.

Thanks,
Matt

Matt

What I have done so far is not difficult to do. All the techniques are quite simple.

All you have to do is be prepared to have a go and accept that mistakes will happen.

If you need any help or suggestions drop us a line.

Just caught this thread Bryan. Absolutely top drawer modelling. You have a great eye for detail.
The monument -is it a piece of real slate ?
Any chance of an overall photo of the layout as it stands ?
Thanks and good luck with the continuation !!

Hi Ron

Yes its a real piece of slate.

A single photo is going to be tricky.

But I will have a go.

The problem is that being built in a loft the camera angles are restricted by roof beams and they can over power the images.

What question to you want the image(s) to answer?

Hi Bryan

That looks utterly superb mate. Really impressed with the junction and interesting pointwork in the station throat. Some really nice touches like the recess siding complete with ubiquitous brake-van :D Must also compliment you on the foliage too. It all looks wonderful :)

Cheers fella

Hi Bryan , I was trying to get a feel for the overall size . Is there more to come as regards extra baseboards ?
Does this picture sum up where you have got to so far ? If so ,that answers my question ! :D
Thanks
Ron

Ron

That's about as far as I have got.

As mentioned previously the bare area in the distance is where I will now start working building up the platform/station/good shed area plus more of the town.

As always available time will not be long enough as I can only allow the next 4 weeks. After that I need to concentrate on the electrics.

I MUST have movement on the board on Christmas Eve. To placate the family.

So there will be gaps in the modelling that will need an infill early in the New Year.

Yes there will be more boards.

I need to be able to bring in trains from the tunnel entrance in the front of the picture you have selected.

If you look closely at the far end of the picture you can see the wing of another tunnel and some wooden blocks. The wing represents the possible location of a bridge and the wooden blocks the road line accessing the bridge.

This will be the exit initially to another "fiddle" area.

The branch line running between the Church and Monument Hill will have to go somewhere?

But all that's 2008.

Sorry Ron

I forgot to give dimensions:

Image

Its probably 10 feet from one tunnel to the next.

Image

and between 3 and 4 feet wide.

Sorry about the different image sizes. I decided 640 X 480 was to small after I posted the images on Sunday and increased the size to 800 X 600.

In answer to the private email i received in case anyone else has wondered.

The strange grey square area to the left of the points is the proposed location of the signal box.

Image

Haven't quite decided which one yet.

So I am open to suggestions.
