Wow, great work on the inclines Mumbles. My heart was in my mouth as it trundled up and down without an ounce of protection should something go awry!

I've made a card mock up of one of the bridges ill be building. Crucially to check clearance. You can see that by this point the lower level is much lower than the low scenic point, and how from underneath you have access to all the line.

The real bridge/tunnel

Mock up showing scenic level. About 15cm?+/- above base frame units.. The hidden hatch!!

More mocks ups!! On the left horn street will come from under the arch, the pub (there has to be a pub) will be on the corner which the road comes round and turns off again under the bridge up the hill to the station and goods yard of sandgate

This is the bit i rushed last time. I worked all this out after track was down last time. Taking a very different approach this time by making sure what I want fits before things are too fixed

Your banking seems very flat, they tend to be quite uneven.

I got the last of the track beds for all the hidden lines cut and in place. All the supports for the inclines can all still be changed to get the gradient right and I could still raise the fiddle yard higher if needed. Was about to give it a coat of grey primer and realised I had the wrong paint. Too light and a solvent based which will take ages to dry!!

Having got that much done it frustrated me having the wrong paint. So I nipped out and got it and have lavished it in a lovely coat of grey primer

G'Day Gents

Looking forward to seeing where all the track goes, looks like Egyptian scaffolding at the moment. :D

On the grey bits

On a serious note.. Yes, it is on stilts!!! It is this height that gives the hidden lines accessibility while the scenic areas are at eye level when sitting down. The front lowest frame of the scenic zone will be about 5" above the base unit.. Plenty of arm room to reach under to the hidden lines without crawling.. Front access!

Its worth pointing out that i still have a lot of frame work to add for strength and reinforcement. The beauty doing it this way is i know where point motors need to be so can fit supports around that. I've got the track bed roughly where i want it and I can make it all much sturdier as I become sure gradients, track position and other factors are known.

Managed to get a little track down in the fiddle yard, and then got sidetracked making sure my control panel and DC power supply worked.. It does. I can drive trains with either control with the flick of a switch 8)

This picture shows how the top track level can just be unscrewed and lifted off to work on the fiddle yard. I've tried to design the structure so its as easy to work on as possible. The plan being to get all the lower levels running and wired up and the i can work on the top levels

I have got the basic track in the hidden storage down. I have room to add a few more points, but they will be used on the top for now.

The programming track is crying out for a little single track diorama on a shelf
