6x2 baseboard

hi guys im using 3"x1" bracing topped with 9mm ply constructed as crudely shown below,the board will be packed away when not in use.does the board look sturdy enough to you guys.any input would be most welcome

Received wisdom says, I think, max 12" spacing - but personally I reckon with 9mm top the nearer 18" (by 12") that you plan would be fine. Opinion only you understand!

If you are unsure of strength you could always add L shape brackets to all joints.

I tend to go for 2x1 with 400mm centres, so about 16", with anything from 6mm-12mm top boards.

3" should take a 1:1 model of the Titanic :|
