Farish buildings

Post by Floppy »

Does anyone else find Farish resin buildings under scale? I have the crossing keeper's cottage and the farmhouse and they both appear tiny by comparison with other manufacturer's products, even though the scale height of the doors seems about right.

It's a common problem in 00 as well. The non railway buildings in the old Airfix, now Dapol kits tended to suffer the same problem, doors and windows to scale floor plan definitely not. I think the classic has to be the half timbered pub and the thatched cottage, roughly similar in size. That I should criticise on this is a bit cheeky, with, my version of the Shakespeare Express with "Rood Ashton Hall" and eight Mk1s the two ends of the train just spans the distance between the home signals of my two stations.
