Hello all,
Revolution Trains is proposing another crowd funded EMU to go with its forthcoming Pendolino in N - this time the ubiquitous Class 321 and 320 units.
The Class 321s 4-car trains operate on numerous routes and services on the WCML, ECML and GE lines as well as northern England. The Class 320 3-car units work across Scotland's central belt. Both types have been in service for 25 years.
There are numerous possible liveries, and once we have received expressions of interest for 1000 models we will set the project going. The manufacturer will again be Rapido trains of Canada.
More information this weekend at The International N Gauge show (TINGS) at Leamington Spa, or soon on our website www.revolutiontrains.com
cheers
Ben A.

I presume you are thinking of the later 321/3s, 321/4s and 321/9s with their slightly different window arrangement, but if you are considering the early 321/3s, can you also do the 322s as these are very similar and were used for Liverpool Street to Stansted (and some other local services), Euston to Manchester Airport and Edinburgh to North Berwick services, and had atleast five livery variations before they gained the 'accessible toilet' (and also because I want some).
Re: Revolution Trains propose Class 320 & 321 EMU in N
Hi there,
We are starting with the 321/4s as our preliminary research suggests that the bodyshells for the 321/4 also enable us to do the Scottish 320s and the 321/9s used in the north of England. And of course 321/4s are used on the WCML, ECML and GE lines.
If there is enough interest (there is a button on our website to express it) we could do a 456 Southern 3rd rail DC 2-car version with one additional bodyshell.
I have been told that the second batch of Class 321/3s had the same bodyshells as the 321/4s, but I have not confirmed this yet. Does anyone know?
cheers

Re: Revolution Trains propose Class 320 & 321 EMU in N
As far as I can tell (from Google images), 321301-346 have a small and a medium size window in the first class section behind the cab of the DTCO, while 321347-366 and all 321/4s have a small and a large size window in the first class section. Also, looking at the number series for the vehicles, 321301-346 were numbered lower than 321401-448, whilst 321347-366 were numbered higher. Not exactly scientific I'll grant you, but probably good indicators.

Hello all,
I am delighted to say that the Class 321 project is going ahead. We are working with Eversholt to ensure it's as good as it can be.
Many thanks to all who have promised to order.
In the first instance CONFIRMED liveries are: 321 - Network South East, London Midland, First. 320 -Scotrail Saltire.
Other liveries will be available to select, and if they too reach enough interst we will produce them. If not the customer will be asked to select a different one.
cheers

Hello all,
Further to earlier posts - though judging from lack of feedback I am not sure this is the right forum for this sort of posting - drawings have been received along with information from Eversholt and a visit took place last week to enable a 321 unit to be measured and photographed.
Revolution Trains had a stand at the York show where they met plenty of people and were able to discuss this project. Right now they are awaiting the first draft of the CAD drawings and will publish these on the website when they are received.
Ordering is now open with a special early bird discount available until the end of June. At this time on offer are the 320 in Scotrail Saltire livery and the 321 in London midland, Network South East and First as these are the only specific liveries that have reached the minimum required for separate paint jobs. Other models can be ordered and will be confirmed for production as they reach that minimum threshold. For any that don't, customers will be asked to either choose another or have their deposit/payment returned.
cheers

Is there anyway to check what items one has registered for? I'm sure I expressed interest for a NSE class 321 but can't remember how many and would like to confirm what I entered.
Cheers.

I believe expressions of interest was just to gauge interest. So if you want some you need to order them now. I'll have a few to order shortly (payday can't come quick enough!).

Hello there,
Just to confirm, the expressions of interest was purely to gauge whether the project should proceed. The expressions of interest are not automatically turned into orders - please go on the website again to actually order whichever model you'd like.
cheers

Ben very responsibly tried to make this an item of news for members rather than an advert or forum for contact with Revolution Trains.
If you want to express interest or make enquiries about the project please go to their website at revolutiontrains.com
