Hi I’m Delboy and I live in the lovely City of Durham. This is my first venture into railway modelling since I was a boy many moons ago.
I have done war gaming dioramas in the past so scenery work will be a strong point of mine.
4mm gauge is my preferred scale to model in. I am certain I will have many questions asci get used to my new hobby.

Welcome Delboy
You will find us a nice friendly group, there are many skilled model makers who will be more than happy to answer any questions. So just ask away. OO gauge is very probably the most commonly used in this country and extremely well supported by the trade.

Welcome to our group where you'll find someone interested in just about anything
model railway orientated.
There is a huge depth of knowledge and many different experiences.
Any questions ? just fire away, but remember you'll get different views, we all
love being 'individuals'.

Thanks Geoff for the lovely forum welcome, I have been browsing quite a lot of the forum for knowledge and ideas for my diorama as mentioned in the layout section.

Hi TheDuke71000,

Have fun !! At least you're not doing a portable layout that size, but
you've got quite a task ahead.

Welcome Delboy & Duke, I'm a bit late catching up as just come back from my holiday in Spain, we visit a couple of times a year but Malaga so nowhere near Duke, get the sunshine though.
As others have said it'd a friendly place with a wealth of knowledge, I've been a member since starting on my first layout and would never have completed it if it wasn't for the help I got on here.

Hello and welcome
Unlike other Forums, this one does indeed host pictures directly, just click on the "attachments" tab, when writing a post and click "add files", or drag and drop to the post reply text area.

Can't wait for some pics, sounds like mykinda size of layout! :D

P.S. They need to be less than 1000 pixels wide!

Hi
I am also a new member. I am in Beckenham in Kent. I purchased an unfinished project some months ago.(Track only) After spending some time tidying it up, I am now ready to go. I now find that I do not know very much about anything. Not like my old set I had in the past. (a very long while ago). It is controlled with a NCE system which I know nothing about, I now have three loco's, all set at factory default 3, not knowing how to change this. When I have looked at what equipment I actually have , there will be many questions I will need answering.
