I'm Rob, I am 29 and live in Somerset.
I was fanatical about railways in general from a young age and got my first Hornby train set for my 6th birthday, the OO gauge GWR Mixed Traffic set with a Pannier tank!
From there the set grew into a more advanced train set. When I was about 12 I decided to build my first "proper" model railway around my bedroom, and enjoyed this for a few years.
When I was a mid-late teenager I built a OO gauge railway in my parents garden, which took a lot of work and was short lived due to reliability problems, but enjoyable all the same.
Due to focusing on work and other activities during my twenties I put model railways on hold. However I am now returning to it due to having available space (managed to convince the missus to get a 3 bed house with a room just for the model railway...it didn't take much convincing, she's a gem), and having more time, funds, patience and planning skills.
I am sticking with OO gauge as I still have some stock left over from the garden layout which is in perfect working order.
Since moving in I have built the baseboard, well most of it, but I would like to share some pictures and ideas with you all to get some guidance on the final track plans.
Can anyone tell me which part of the forum is best to post this stuff?
Thanks!
