New to railway modelling

Postby PLB » Thu Jan 10, 2019 3:16 pm

Hello everyone,
Thanks for adding me as a new member of this community. I’m totally new to railway modelling. I ordered a Hornby R1151 Caledonian Belle trainset (Hatton's) to start in this hobby.
I’m hope to gain knowledge from the forum and get involved in some of the discussions. See you soon.
Regards,
Pierre

Hi Pierre, welcome to the forum, your name prompts me to ask are you in France? It's helpful if you can look at your profile and add a location, doesn't have to be precise, just helps stop others making a boo boo by telling you something which to you is obvious. Like me telling an Australian where in the UK to get a particular Australian made motor bogie

Thanks. Right now, I'm not a real railway modeller because I still have a lot things to learn.

Same here Pierre. The good news is there are a lot of great people on this forum who will help us both to learn.

Bonne Chance!

I hope I got that right.

Logically then, none of us are real railway modellers!

Many thanks for your friendly welcome.

Nothing special. I only like these small 0-4-0 steam locos and these short wagons. I'm not going to build a "British style" layout. Mostly because I don't have the skills and the patience for that.

Pierre
