£50 worth of track (points and flexi track) from local video game store who took the stock from local model shop when it closed a few years back - he practically had to blow the dust off it all

also from local model show two waggon kits and a strawberry plant kit - £30

Oranoco,

Where are the forged pistons ?
I remember asking the price in 1970 whenever, when I was re-building
my 1600 rally ford crossflow - bored out to 60 thou for those few extra cc.
Couldn't afford them then and could probably just afford the 1970's price
now !! Asking 7000 rpm (in top) on standard pistons was pushing it !!

Pistons are already forged Mahle items so will be checked over and given fresh rings and re-used. Just want to swap out the weak link as I'm aiming for about. 350bhp with the next evolution. Admittedly though I'm more worried about having something driveable and quick round the track (and to Tesco) than chasing numbers. Stock car was running 7psi on a K03 turbo, currently running at 22psi on a hybrid K04. Certainly not a cheap exercise, bits above and a couple of other bits sat here stand me at almost a grand. Oops

Very grateful for my Mrs as with my passion for cars, cycling and the model railway she never gives the slightest grumble.

2 Dublo Mk1 horse boxes, one maroon and one green. Both have all the their doors and cost about a tenner each. One had already been fitted with tension locks, the other I just swopped with a spare Wrenn Fruit D chassis.
Also £10 on a 30 year old Hornby HST which came with the dummy plus a MK3 coach.

Managed to behave myself at the Glasgow Show, bought a Hornby Gresley suburban all 3rd at a bargain £28, a book on the North British Railway at half price £15, plus about £20 on paint, plasticard etc. from Squires.

Was that from Ellis Clark? Think I did even better on Friday - I got the Thompson R4575 & R4577 suburbans (marked at £28 each) for £50 from them.

Also spent well at Squires on plastikard and got "Hawick to Galashiels" from Book Law for £16 (saved £2.95).

Went to Marks in Dublin last week and bought a set of jeweller's screwdrivers and some Plasticard for about a tenner. Then I saw some coaches in the second hand cabinet and had to have them - five perfect Bachmann Mk 1 in midland maroon for €100. No boxes but otherwise mint.

I bought seven yards of code75 from Waltons, Mrs W bought a new Honda HRV from Swansway, now we'll both have to stop spending.
