Re: I must stop spending!
Here we go again!
Railway related:
- Heljan Class 23 (Original condition), £69.
- Various Woodland Scenics foliage, scatter, etc. Total £55.
- Hornby 21T open wagon "CORY Bros", £3. It is in excellent condition, unlike some I've seen.
(This one is for my grandson, Corey. Yes, I know it's spelt wrong, but it was he who noticed it - "Hey, Grandad Don, there's a truck there with my name on it!")
Others:
- Airfix Avro Vulcan (VTTS special edition) £30.
- Boxful of various model kits (11) from a charity shop (the guy wanted £20 for the lot, all were unchecked for completeness), I gave him £30 as there is at least one v. rare kit among them, and this particular charity is quite close to my heart.
- Various parts for my slowly growing '80s racing bike collection. I daren't put the total here...

Re: I must stop spending!
That ruddy ridiculously low priced 3F early crest at Hattons is massively tempting.
I had one a while ago, didn't think Id miss it, but the magnificent detailing for less than a Hornby RR model screams "Buy me: you'll regret it if you dont!"
I don't even model anything Mids or LMS but well aware this is probably THE bargain of bargains at £64 delivered to the door.
Small? Sure! Worth it? Worth a lot more

Re: I must stop spending!

This turned up at my doorstep. Not sure how that happened.

Re: I must stop spending!
My total spent was
£29.99 outstanding balance on a TTS Gadwall A4
£10.99 on some Corgi trackside DIY vehicles.
Ok, whilst not "cured", still a big improvement from my past.

Re: I must stop spending!
I picked up a hornby GWR 2800 Class 2-8-0 DCC fitted for $200 AUD, normally $270 and less than most of the other DCC Ready trains so I was quite happy to pick it up. Haven't run it yet, plan to do it this weekend

Re: I must stop spending!
I was stopping spending ...... not for any fiscal concerns, just that I'm running out of space.
Then today I've used my last Parkside Dundas coupling mounting blocks, but still have some
wagon kit stock.
All I really want are 4 frets of the P.D mountings, but If I have to pay for a standard P&P charge
it makes sense to add a couple more wagon kits - You all must agree on that. More difficult
is explaining to the wife that another mail order package will be arriving.

I know the feeling. Lady G does ask "What do you want another engine for? You cannot run them all."

Hi Glencairn,
It'll be a small box .....
3 wagon kits with decals & some assorted accessories
not far off £50 so no strain, apart from perhaps on the ears !!

Re: I must stop spending!
You have got to realize that you are never going to win.
I recently bought a larger scale loco for what seemed a very reasonable price, in fact cheap really at the four figure mark.
I already have one loco which I can carry myself but when I got this one home it needed two of us to handle it properly because it was so big. It overwhelmed my office so I decided it wasn't practical and decided to sell it on, which I did and made a 25% profit on the deal.
Strange how it went from 'you paid how much for that ? !', to 'you let it go too cheap' when I sold it.

In our house it's my wife who insists on buying the locos with the Scottie Dogs - and loves unpacking Hattons boxes too.

Hi ParkeNd,
Is that her way of saying "make a Scottish theme" layout ??
In truth all I get is the odd grump, I can also see her point
that perhaps 300+ wagons should be enough.
I'd suggest you look after her though, a lady worth a shed
load of locos !!

Mrs P could be building her own layout.

This confession malarkey is becoming a habit...
Model Railway:
- Various scenery-related bits, total £22.55.
- Several (OK, 11) packs of various figures from different manufacturers, £67.
Model Aircraft:
- 1:72 Boeing B-47E Stratojet (Hasegawa), £44.
- 1:72 Handley-Page Victor (This came from a local charity shop, complete, no instructions), £7.
Other:
- Various PSE timber from the local DIY superstore (to make shelves for all these aircraft!) £22.
- Miscellaneous bike parts, mainly control cables and brake blocks, £8.
It's payday in around a week's time too...
