No harm in asking.
Has anybody got a spare No.20 extra long NEM Kadee coupler that they can part with ?
I've added a decoder to my Hatton's Andrew Barclay, but it's for use on a Kadee fitted
layout. The NEM pockets are mounted well back and a No.18 is FAR too short. The shunting
layout only needs locos with one coupler.
I was looking through the web today and find most of my usual suppliers are out of stock.
What did hit me hard was the NEW PRICE, it seems a packet of 4 Kadee couplers is rising
from the recent £5.50 a packet to £8.30 !!!!
Although Kernow have a packet and at just over a fiver I'd have stuck the other 3 in the
spares box, BUT at £8.30, then plus postage and I only want ONE !!
Hence my request has anyone an odd one kicking around they would part with ??

Re: On The Cadge - Kadee No.20
Thanks glencairn,
I'm trying to find a way around without having to buy anything.
This idea works, but has extended the Kadee knuckle further out than I wanted.
I try to get so buffers almost touch when pushing.
Easy to try again.
I've drilled a 1.4 mm hole in the side of a NEM pocket. I wanted to square up, but
it works with a round hole into which the fish-tail hooks drop.

This doesn't damage the pocket beyond normal applications.
Too far out - The next try will be drilling on the angle of the next pocket.

As I have quite a lot of No.18 couplers here this will allow me a cost free conversion.

Re: On The Cadge - Kadee No.20
Shortened slightly, now glued in place and working well.
Problem solved without buying any new couplers.
IF they'd been available I'd have had a packet of #19 & #20
