Spot of help, please...

Postby 4MT » Sat Apr 18, 2020 10:34 am

I wonder, could someone do me a huge favour, and measure up a Bachmann 4MT tank loco and two SR carriages which would be applicable to use with the loco on an 00 gauge Cuckoo Line layout? I just need the overall length of the three coupled up together. Thanks...

If it is the Fairburn 4MT 2-6-4T, then with 2 x Bachmann BR 64' mk1 = 713mm over buffers. (You would have to specify what exactly ran on the Cuckoo line. BR mk1 are likely to be longer than SR group or pre-group stock.)

That's using the close coupling mechanisms with Roco pattern couplers so that the gangway faceplates are in contact on straight track. Add up to 30mm if using tension lock couplings, length varies according to pattern used.
