I found a photo of this loco as exworks on the net.I`m not certain whether the background colour was red or black,i also found a Golden Age loco with this finish & red backed plates. The plates are from the Modelmaster heritage range which are made to fit the raised pad.The LMS livery is correct for late 1947 to early 1948.

I used Modelmaster plates on my Duchess of Atholl conversion/restoration: they are excellent and, as you said, designed to fit the overscale raised plinth used for the original HD transfer.

I`ve done a lot of conversions on Dublo,Trix,Triang etc,2 rail to 3 rail.If anyone wants to see any,i`ll post on here.In the meantime!,a 2EPB on scrap modified SD coaches with a Dublo emu power unit.
A Heljan EM1 which is fitted with a switch inside the body to allow 3 rail running from the track or Trix catenary.
A never produced SR restaurant car using my home produced overlays.

A couple of pics of the Hornby 2BIL conversion with the decoder socket removed & the wheel wiper p/ups wired together for 3 rail operation. The 2nd pic is the Marklin skate fitted to the trailer cab end bogie. The wheel sets b to b was opened out to allow it to operate on Dublo 3 rail points.the skate was wired through to the motor bogie using a plug & socket.

Re: Latest model conversion from my workbench.
The 2EPB came about because at the time,Dublo cab fronts wern`t available,Dart castings supplied the white metal cab fronts. The unit was built on a Dublo poor condition motor car & trailer using home produced overlays.

Hi Ray
Thanks for the photos, that plug and socket looks
A good idea is it square brass tube?
I am trying to 3 rail a mainline class 52 no room
On the pickup bogie , so was thinking about putting
The skate on a triang converter wagon and using
A plug and socked
