Lumsdonia Website and YouTube Updates

Post by TimberSurf »

The LUMSDONIA website is my personal internet mechanism for sharing both my model railway plans and my knowledge and ideas for others to benefit from.
It serves as both an insight into my creative plans and a repository for information, useful for others.
I hope the later will build up over the years to become a reference site for innovative idea's for all.
There are a few pages specific to my layout plans but most of the others are expanding to include more reference data for the enjoyment of all modellers.
There are a few pages about the basics for the beginners and some data pages, the tips pages are now constantly expanding and I hope to include a reference list of links for other useful websites in the future.

I will use this thread as a prompt for each time I update and add more information.

The 400 Alternatives page has now been added. An area for idea's that can replace commercial offerings or just making use of stuff for something it was never intended for. Most are either cheaper or at least up cycling! Some are just idea's for uses that may not be so obvious or may well be simple not heard of.

http://www.lumsdonia.co.uk/tips.html

401 Maskol equivalent
402 Can’t solder?
403 DCC Bus removable tap off
404 Paint mixing pot

Please do make comments or criticisms, it can't be perfect, so please give me some feedback good or bad!

Many thanks Kebang, I was wondering if anyone is bothered about my efforts, as no one is making comments!

Please, please reply in this thread what tips you think you may use and if you think they are rubbish, let me know. I desperately need critique, as I have never done a web site before, have no training and without feedback, have no idea if anyone finds it useful or see areas for improvement.

Hi Stephen
I have no experience of paint stripping and only ever offer advice (and Tips) if I am personally experienced in the subject/topic.
However, I have distant memory of reading up on the subject on here (for future use) and a quick search reveals this viewtopic.php?f=16&t=47758 thread :)
Glad you like the tips,I hope you get to utilise some or bare in mind, if something on a shelf, while shopping, rings a bell!

I would be very pleased if you put a link! I am working on an extensive list of useful links, not dissimilar to yours, but more supplier orientated, to go on my website and would also link to yours. In the meantime, I have added it to the current page Lumsdonia Links
