Re: Magazine: which one ?
Just for a try, I ordered the latest issue of Hornby Magazine (HM115, January) ). Wait and see...
Re: Magazine: which one ?
To be honest I think you get used to a magazine, sometimes to the level
where you've seen so much of that magazines editorial preferences one
can get fed-up with it !!
I've used Railway Modeller for several years, but feel I need a change !!
I would imagine British outline model magazines are a rare thing in France.
I wonder how much magazine postage is ?? ...... I have an idea.

Re: Magazine: which one ?
i have followed all of them at one point or another but my favourite is Hornby magazine, i subscribe to it as well as Model rail but find myself reading the Hornby one more.
Re: Magazine: which one ?
Hornby magazine one year subscription is a little bit cheaper than Railway Modeller: Europe 1 Year (12 issues) £54.99 (including delivery charges)

Re: Magazine: which one ?
Look at digital subs...
Re: Magazine: which one ?
Yep. But I'm a "old school" guy and I like real paper

Re: Magazine: which one ?
Railway Modeller. Good old favourite of mine.
Shame I've not the budget to buy one every month.

So do I! Being a website developer you would have thought digital would be my first choice but it's so much nicer reading them in hard copy
It also has the added bonus that my dad gets them when I am done with them as well

Don't get me wrong digital is great- railway modeller used to give you access to a digital archive of past issues which was a fantastic feature but can't beat a good old hard copy magazine you can cut up, draw in, fold corners over etc etc

And I got...nothing

Re: Magazine: which one ?
I agree with Geoff - you do rather tend to favour one over the others.
I'm a bit out of love with all of them right now however. I used to buy RM religiously every month but feel that some of the layout articles in particular are losing quality - some, not all. There are probably too many layouts being reviewed by a number of magazines every month and consistent high quality has suffered sometimes. Also, the product reviews do sometimes seem geared towards keeping the manufacturers happy.
So, I look at RM in the supermarket each month and buy it if there's something I want to read further. I probably buy 1 in 4. I guess it's still the one I'd look at first.
Not a very helpful answer, just a personal view. Oh, RM does have a good listing of advertisers too.

Re: Magazine: which one ?
RM does have the advantage of being in the supermarket, my local Tesco does not have any & Sainsburys only has RM. Unfortunately we don't really shop at sainsburys often which makes it rather difficult to sneak it in with the weekly shop

Re: Magazine: which one ?
I got an answer from Key Publishing for my Hornby Magazine (January 2017 issue):
"Surface mail can take up to 30 days for delivery. Please allow further time for this order to arrive."
Wait and see...
