Anyone know what book this is?

When I started high school, in 1966, there was a book in the school library on model railways. It was a British book, copiously illustrated for its time, with a number of colour illustrations. Most of the illustrations, if I recall correctly, featured 3 rail Hornby Dublo, so the book was probably about a decade old then. It was quarto size or thereabouts and would have had, at a guess, something like 110 pages.

Does anyone have any idea what book this might be?

I have tried eBay and Abebooks without success. You're right, what you saw on eBay is not what I was asking about, but that was interesting nevertheless.

The Hornby Book of Trains wld have been published on an annual basis in the 50s so perhaps it's that, this link is for the 1959 issue.

No. It was not a Hornby publication. I am thinking that it might have been E F Carter's The Boys' Book of Model Railways.
