Don't bite it too hard Steve - it tends to hurt !
I'm sure we can all start again.

No worries, but just accept that you'll usually get more info than you expected and there will be some thread drift and you'll be ok!!

Don't worry about it .... we all get days when we kick the cat,
and for me it must be the neighbours cat as we don't have one !!
I sometimes look at a posting asking a question for which I don't have
any answers. I think, should I say I have no idea, or just leave well alone.
If everybody did that and nobody knew the answer would the poster
just think we're ignoring them ?
I tend to ignore as I don't want to add worthless postings in the thread.

No Worries Steve.
I have to say that other forums are far more likely to provide you with tangental answers, in my experience.
If I only know part of the answer to a query - I will answer that part and say I dunno about the other bit !

If a query has been hanging around for ages with no response I will comment that I don't know and try to suggest where else to look or who might have an answer just to stop the post from falling out of the active topics listing.

Re: Please READ the post.
i will post at times even when i dont have an exact answer as my input might help others put the bits together or point the OP in the right direction - its the nature of forums and i am sure has resulted in better solutions then a single post with an answer
it has without question ended up either teaching others or me more then intended as well

Step 1 of that manual should be "Have you tried turning it off an on yet?"

OT: I kind of get where your coming from, a few of my layout plan posts seem to have fizzled out but reading back I think it was a case of no-one having anything to say. It seems like this is a smaller forum and out of the number most are still learning, so the chances of getting answers are far less than some of us may be used to. I have a thread that I'll be ressurecting soon now that I have the wood to start building a base board and just need to make space.
