Hello all, I’m writing this both to give a word of warning and to request your help. I recently saw some Private Owner Wagons advertised that would go very well on my intended Southern layout so sent off for them. This is where the problem started: I was in a rush and didn’t take the care that I normally would. Now, it was only a tiny error, so small that I never noticed it and never dreamt of the consequences. In my hurry, I didn’t state that I wanted two Private Owner Wagons, but abbreviated it to 2 POWs. And this is where things went wrong, I asked for 2 PoWs, not 2 POWs. With a response time that was breath-taking, my wife and I suddenly found that we had two prisoners of war arrive on the door step. We’ve tried to make them as comfortable as we can but things are somewhat strained: we’ve tried chatting to them but they’ll only give us their rank and number. They’ve demanded a visit from the Red Cross so we popped into the charity shop in town, however, the manager said they only deal with bric-a-brac and don’t make house calls, so would we call Geneva. The wife’s getting a bit fed up as they kept trying to dig under the garden fence, making a right mess of the flower beds. They’ve stopped that but have started P.E. sessions instead. One of them seems very keen on gymnastics and drags out a huge vaulting horse which is ruining the lawn: his friend doesn’t seem as enthusiastic, we never see him out there.
I’m rather concerned, especially as we’ll need the spare room at Christmas. Have you any suggestions as to what we might do?
Private Owner Wagons?
Re: Private Owner Wagons?
With that track record, you need to be careful with any other wagons you are interested in. May I particularly draw your attention to TOPS code 'PTA'. Even a single order might prove disastrous.

....and don't order any departmental wagons unless you have a very large garden pond
This Signature Left Intentionally Blank, but since I have written this and I intended to do it, this Signature is intentionally not blank. Paradox or What?

Be wary if there are 'Rats' or 'Slugs'.

It's your house, you've got a right to kick them out, if they refuse to go call the police.
