I fear you need to be a 'butcher' at times, but if all you want to do is get Bachmann non-ferrous
hooks those Dapol couplings pull out of the NEM pocket and Bachmann couplings will sometimes
snap in without any further work, if they won't go in it's usually because the Dapol NEM pocket is
fractionally too narrow so a light sanding of the Bachmann to reduce it works. I've recently done
that on a 6 wheeled milk tank because the Dapol hooks keep falling off the small mounting rod
within the coupling and that drives me mad !!

Another real Butcher fix, the coupling with hook often sits too low, sagging somewhat and won't
couple up with Bachmann ......... So I just bend them until the buffing bar lines up with 'tother
stuff. Never had one snap yet !!

I'm off - to see what damage I can do to someone's wagons !!

Had to rush off and take a photograph .....

Image

Here you see 3 Lima horse & groom wagons.
On the right the original wide fixed Lima coupling
In the middle you see where I've sawn off the original mountings
On the left you have Parkside Dundas mounting blocks fitted with Bachmann couplings.

I'm quite happy to saw away what is not working and replace with something that has a
universal fit within my collection of stock. Done the same to Hornby wagons and probably
Dapol, but once converted I soon forget what I've done ..... So long as it works !!

And that was harder to sort than it should have been...

"Parkside Dundas OO Mounting block for NEM Coupler Pockets Pack of 10 PA34

A pack of mounting blocks to hold the NEM coupler pockets, as supplied with Bachmann NEM couplings. These blocks can be used to fit the interchangable NEM couplers to kit built wagons." http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/1399_1_105870478.html

So the pocket comes with the Bachmann coupler, not with the mounting block.
